Convert UTC to Any Time Zone

Pick a city from the dropdown and the tool applies that zone's offset right now. Not its standard offset. The one in effect today.

That distinction matters because most zones shift for daylight saving. UTC does not. It stays UTC+0 on 15 January, 15 July, and every other day. The zones you convert to move.

How to Use These Converters

The tool checks whether DST is active in the target zone on today's date. You get the live offset.

For example, on 15 January 2026: - New York is UTC-5 (Eastern Standard Time) - London is UTC+0 (Greenwich Mean Time) - Paris is UTC+1 (Central European Time)

By 15 July 2026: - New York is UTC-4 (Eastern Daylight Time) - London is UTC+1 (British Summer Time) - Paris is UTC+2 (Central European Summer Time)

If you calculate by hand, you must check DST status yourself. The converter removes that step.

Here is what 12:00 UTC looks like in major zones on two reference dates.

15 January 2026 (winter in Northern Hemisphere)

Zone Local time Offset
New York (EST) 07:00 UTC-5
Los Angeles (PST) 04:00 UTC-8
London (GMT) 12:00 UTC+0
Paris (CET) 13:00 UTC+1
Dubai (GST) 16:00 UTC+4
Mumbai (IST) 17:30 UTC+5:30
Tokyo (JST) 21:00 UTC+9
Sydney (AEDT) 23:00 UTC+11

15 July 2026 (summer in Northern Hemisphere)

Zone Local time Offset
New York (EDT) 08:00 UTC-4
Los Angeles (PDT) 05:00 UTC-7
London (BST) 13:00 UTC+1
Paris (CEST) 14:00 UTC+2
Dubai (GST) 16:00 UTC+4
Mumbai (IST) 17:30 UTC+5:30
Tokyo (JST) 21:00 UTC+9
Sydney (AEST) 22:00 UTC+10

Dubai and Mumbai never change. Their offsets are constant. Sydney runs the other way: daylight time in January (UTC+11), standard time in July (UTC+10).

Does DST Affect My UTC Conversion?

Yes, on the target side. UTC itself never observes DST. That is the whole point of using it as a reference.

But the zone you convert to might. The United States and Europe change on different dates. Australia shifts in October and April. Parts of Brazil, Chile, and Morocco follow their own calendars. Some zones skip DST entirely.

A common mistake: assuming New York is always UTC-5. It is not from March to November.

Use the 24-hour clock when working with UTC. The tool shows 00:00 to 23:59. No AM/PM ambiguity across zones.

How Do I Convert UTC to Local Time by Hand?

  1. Get the target zone's current UTC offset (for example, UTC-5 for EST, UTC+1 for CET).
  2. Add that offset to UTC time. Positive offsets add hours. Negative offsets subtract.
  3. If the result is 24 or more, subtract 24 and advance the date by one day. If negative, add 24 and go back one day.

Example: 14:00 UTC to Eastern Daylight Time (UTC-4). 14:00 minus 4 hours equals 10:00 EDT.

The tool handles this arithmetic. The formula is useful when you are offline or debugging a timestamp.
